New Pilatus Facility Under Construction at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport

August 19, 2016

On July 13th, 2016, officials from Pilatus Business Aircraft Ltd, Tectonic Management Group, Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport, and Jefferson County, Colorado gathered for a ground-breaking ceremony, celebrating the start of construction on Pilatus' new North and South American headquarters for aircraft completions and support.

For the last 20 years, Pilatus has had a strong presence at the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in Broomfield, Colorado, conducting aircraft completions on more than 1,000 PC-12 aircraft, as well as managing the North and South American sales and service network in various leased facilities on the airport grounds.

The new facility is expected to open in Spring 2018, and will consolidate all of Pilatus' operations into a single, state-of-the-art building. This space will help to accommodate the growth anticipated with new aircraft sales and deliveries, specifically the PC-24 Super Versatile Jet. Pilatus currently employs 80 people in Broomfield, but expects to grow to around 140 team members when the PC-24 is in full-rate production by the year 2020.

All of the design, architectural, and construction management services are being conducted by Tectonic Management Group of Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Not only is Tectonic a leading builder of general and business aviation facilities and commercial projects nationwide, they also specialize in the design and construction of corporate flight departments, fixed base operations, aviation completion and maintenance facilities.

The completions and support center will be the first business located on the west side of the airport as part of a larger commercial development plan countywide. President and CEO of Pilatus Business Aircraft Ltd, Thomas Bosshard, has commented, "We are extremely happy and proud to begin construction of this new facility. Pilatus has enjoyed steady growth in the business aviation market in our 20 years at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport, and we are delighted to have the confidence to expand our operations and employment here in Jefferson County."
